About Dr. Jason Pirozzolo
Dr. Jason Pirozzolo is a distinguished professional in medicine and aviation with over two decades of experience. He earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Nova Southeastern University after completing a clinical externship at Harvard University and Massachusetts General Hospital. He then pursued an internship and residency at Duke University, followed by a sports medicine fellowship at The Ohio State University, where he also served as a team physician. Additionally, he attained the designation of Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. He holds dual board certifications in Family Medicine and Sports Medicine from the National Board of Physicians and Surgeons.
His clinical expertise encompasses non-surgical orthopedics, sports medicine, and high-acuity urgent care. He served as Director of Sports Medicine and Trauma at Orlando Hand Surgery Associates (2011–2021) and was an Assistant Clinical Professor at Florida State University College of Medicine (2014–2023).
Dr. Pirozzolo has been deeply involved in professional organizations, having been elected to the Board of Governors for the Florida Medical Association (2015–2019) and elected as a representative of the State of Florida to be a delegate for the American Medical Association (2017–2019). He is also a certified ringside physician for the Florida State Boxing Commission.
His aviation credentials are extensive, holding an Airline Transport Pilot certificate with multiple ratings. Dr. Pirozzolo is fully certified to captain a Boeing 737 and serve as a co-pilot on a Learjet 45, as well as Cessna Citation business jets, including the Citation I, II, Bravo, S/II, and Ultra, and the Citation CJ1, CJ2, CJ3, and CJ4, which are widely used in private and corporate aviation. In addition, he has private pilot rotorcraft-helicopter, and seaplane licenses. He served multiple terms on the Board of Directors of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority (2010–2020), including roles as Vice-Chairman and Treasurer. He also became one of the first board members in the country to earn Certified Member status from the American Association of Airport Executives.
Dr. Pirozzolo is also an innovator in artificial intelligence and Python programming, holding a patent-pending AI-driven healthcare application. His research contributions include publications on sports medicine, infectious diseases, and environmental decontamination.
His leadership extends to governmental advisory roles, including service on Governor Ron DeSantis’ Health and Wellness Transition Committee.
